I was introduced to scrapbooking by my sister in 2005, ever since then you can't keep me from going to a craft store for supplies at least once a week. I love everything and anything related to paper crafts, card making, scrapbooking and even jewelry making. I'm newly married, 5 months, no kids. I have 2 siblings, older brother and older sister, I'm the youngest. Family is very important to me, I grew up with my 16 cousins since I lived in the United States in 1983. Once a month my sister and I get together with my cousins and we have scrap parties. I love trying new techniques and learning new ideas from other scrappers. My style...hmmm that's tough since I like and try everything, but I like to think my style is whimsical. I love altered projects and making treat bags. I'm currently on a design team at my local scrapbook store Scrapping Lounge, www.scrappinglounge.com since 2007, I teach scrapbook classes and design displays at the store.

Shortly after the first of my five beautiful children was born, I began my foray into the world of scrapbooking. That was back twelve years ago when it was all decorative scissors and stickers. I still love my first scrapbooks but I do fight off the desire to tear them apart and redo. I just remind myself that their style is a reflection of where I was at the time -and that that too deserves preservation. I have scrapped off and on for all those years but it is in the very last year that scrapbooking has become a consuming passion, some would say obsession, for me. Now I happily design pages in my very own scrap room overlooking my somewhat neglected backyard while my children frolic in our forest.  I enjoy designing clean and graphic layouts as well as shabby layouts filled with flowers, inking and distressing. So, I guess you would call my style eclectic. I am inspired in so many ways: my photos, my family, nature, magazines (scrappy, décor & food), photography web sites and of course, by beautiful products. I have always been crafty but scrapbooking gives me that soul sustaining creative outlet while enabling me to create something of real value for my entire family.   I am absolutely thrilled to join the team here at Cookbookin.' I hope I can inspire you to start your very own scrappy cookbook so you can preserve a piece of yourself for generations to come.

I think I am just an average typical crafter, who becomes a little obsessive compulsive when I start a project...I loose all sense of time, and the fact that there is dinner to be fixed, or housework to be done becomes totally irrelevant. The important thing is that I am creating a keepsake...leaving a legacy....right? Can you relate?  It's lucky for me that I have a very understanding husband. I am a mom to a 21 year old daughter and a 12 year old son who are my pride and joy (not necessarily in that order) and I have a little miniature dachshund who is sweeter than either of my children. (wink) I love to meet new friends and share crafting ideas and I hope to one day have a "craft room studio" but until then I am at the kitchen table, baby!

I am very excited to have been asked to join the Cookbookin’ Design Team! I live in San Antonio with my husband, Rob and two boys, Drew – the new teen at 13, and Chris who is 8. I started scrapbooking 13 years ago, when I found out I was expecting for the very first time. Once I tried scrapbooking, I was hooked! I had always been crafty, and had tried lots of different mediums, but I lost interest in ALL of them once I’d been introduced to the wonderful world of scrapbooking. One interest that didn’t go by the wayside though was cooking, so I am looking forward to combining these two interests. I started watching cooking shows on PBS, long before the Food Network came along, and enjoy creating my own recipes from scratch. I draw inspiration mostly from the supplies I’m working with. Are they “shabby” with a vintage feel; just begging to be collaged, torn and distressed, or are they clean and simple and wanting to stay that way. But, I’m also inspired by everyday things. I’ve been known to design a scrapbook page using an ad from a magazine for the layout, or to pull colors together from a great outfit on display. I think inspiration is everywhere, you don’t have to know where to look, you just have to know TO look!
